Launch of new seniors’ guide

Launch of new seniors’ guideThe latest New Brunswick Seniors’ Guide to Services and Programs was released recently.

“Fostering healthy aging and support for seniors is one of the seven pillars of the New Brunswick Family Plan framework,” said Seniors and Long-Term Care Minister Lisa Harris. “Your government is listening to you and getting things done. This guide is just one of many examples of that.”

Harris said the guide fits with the government’s long-term care strategy by helping seniors get the information they need to remain independent and in their homes. It builds upon a foundation of health and wellness, along with support for families and caregivers.

The free booklet contains nearly 50 pages of information that seniors can keep at their fingertips, such as provincial and federal government programs and services, and a listing of community-based groups that help seniors.

The guide contains up-to-date information along with mailing addresses, toll-free telephone numbers and websites for numerous organizations of interest to seniors. It is available in both official languages.

The New Brunswick Seniors’ Guide to Services and Programs is available online, by mail: Social Development, P.O. Box 6000, Fredericton, N.B., E3B 5H1, or by emailing seniors@gnb.ca

Information on seniors’ programs and services may also be obtained by calling the toll-free Seniors’ Information Line at 1-855-550-0552.
