• By On Saturday, October 15, another salmon angling season will be finished for the year. The few exceptions that are still open are the Bartibog, Burnt Church and Tabusintac Rivers which close October 29. Striped bass can still be fished with the final retention period now running to October 31. Read more »
• By As we near the end of the salmon season, it is time to get out and enjoy the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. The weather is beautiful, the Fall foliage is hitting stride, there is time for Blast n Cast and there are reasonably good numbers of fish around, although they are not taking. Read more »

The Yarmouth Mariners remain in the upper echelon of the list while this week being joined by the Miramichi Timberwolves. • By First a caution: Don’t forget that this week is moose season and hunters will be out in full force in pursuit of the Swamp Donkeys, so wear some hunter orange when out and off the beaten track. Take care using moose-hair flies in case some crack-shot sees one in the air. Read more »

Thirty-eight bands and solo artists from all across New Brunswick will meet in the ‘Chi October 13th to 16th to take part in this event which has something for all music fans. Read more »
• By THIS WEEK’S KEY WORD IS “IMPROVEMENT”. With cooler temperatures and some rain, angling and angling conditions have improved this week. First, the Cold-Water Pool closures have revoked and are now open to regular angling. The Southwest Miramichi water levels have increased by 2 feet in the Blackville area and about 15 inches in the Doaktown area. The Northwest Miramichi, however, did not fare as well getting only a 4-inch raise, but rain Wednesday could possibly change that for the better. The Little Southwest received about a foot raise.
